Elastomer Hinged Check Valve Manufacturer
Butterfly Check Valves with Elastomer Hinge for the Lowest Pressure Drop
As an elastomer hinged check valve manufacturer, US Valve's butterfly check valve with Elastomer-Hinge Design is the key to providing the lowest pressure drops in the industry. It takes performance to an entirely new level by eliminating the restrictive valve seat and substantially increasing the valve’s open area and flow coefficient (Cv). The elastomer provides positive sealing and has a long life (see "Elastomer Properties" table below to select the proper elastomer for your application).
Full Port Butterfly Check Valves provide more flow and lower pressure drops than conventional check valves.
Process Compatibility for Butterfly Check Valves
Elastomers for butterfly check valve hinges must be selected with process constituents, temperature range, and other variables in mind to ensure long life and reliability. The following selection chart shows elastomer compatibility for many common chemicals.
|*Temperature Limits (°F)||-60 to 225||-20 to 400||-40 to 300||-100 to 500||-20 to 450|
|Major Attributes||Oil & gas resistant, also air and water service||Oil and gas resistant, air and water service, and heat, solvent and chemical resistant||Water, steam and condensate use, general purpose||High temperature air service||Resistance to most chemicals|
|Oil swell||Very Good||Excellent||Poor||Fair||Excellent|
|Oil and gasoline||Excellent||Excellent||Poor||Fair||Excellent|
|Water absorption||Fair to Good||Very Good||Excellent||Good||Excellent|
|Sunlight||Poor||Very Good||Very Good||Excellent||Excellent|
|Do NOT use on:||Acetone, Methyl Ethyl Ketone and Keytones||Oils/Hydrocarbon fluids||Water, steam, oils||Zero leakage requirements|
*Note: Temperature limits are for intermittent exposure, not for continuous duty
**Note: Reinforcement material is used only in our Elastomer Hinged Valves
